Bookshop Assistant, Camden Arts Centre

Camden Arts Centre is an adventurous venue for contemporary visual art and art education.

The Bookshop is an important part of the Centre’s activities and specialises in contemporary art books including monographs, exhibiiton catalogues, artists editions, periodicals, cards and publications relating to exhibitions and evenets at the Centre. In addition to its sales function the Bookshop provides the important reception and information facility for the Centre as a whole, to ensure a welcoming service for all visitors and users of the Centre.

Retail and administrative experience is essential, as is experience of dealing with the public face to face and on the telephone. Strong IT skills, a familiarity with stock procedures and cash handling are required. Knowledge of contemporary visual art and art criticism is also essential.

This post is two days a week, based on a two-weekly rota. During week 1 the postholder will work on Saturday and Sunday and during week 2 the postholder will work on Tuesday and Wednesday. This post involves regular evening work.

Salary is £10.08 per hour.
