The Federation of British Artists (FBA) is a registered charity and the umbrella organisation fornine leading art societies housed in The Mall Galleries. Our aim is to inspire, educate and involve the public in the appreciation and practice of fine art by contemporary artists. The FBA is a unique national resource boasting 614 artist -members whose exhibitions attract over 10,000 artists through open submissions.
We currently have the opportunity to offer a volunteer internship in the form of a tailored placement within the Commissions department at The Mall Galleries.
The right candidate will have a passion for the arts and cultural sectors who is looking to gain hands-on practical experience of working in this environment. The role is basedwithin a very busy, small team in central London.
Candidates will need to be computer literate preferably knowledgable in PhotoShop and Filemaker Pro. Excellent communication skills and most important, however, is bags of enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

Intern Job Outline
1 or 2 days per week: Monday & Friday.
The role will involve assisting the Head of Commissions and the Commissions Consultant in their work. The intern will be required to carry out research & data input along with portfolio design work. This is an ideal first step for someone looking to work in arts development.
This internship is suited to someone who is currently studying or working part-time who is willing to devote their time to the gallery for a peiod of one to three months.
