Live and Media Arts Internship at ICA

The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London’s foremost centre for a dynamic range of multi disciplined art forms and an essential meeting place for anyone interested in contemporary culture is offering an Internship in the following department:

The ICA Live and Media Arts Department is currently looking to recruit a hard working and motivated intern for a three-month period to start immediately for 3-4 days per week, subject to a two-week probationary period.

Working closely with the Director of Live and Media Arts, this role is a great opportunity to become involved in the organisation of high quality performances, festivals and one off events at the ICA and to gain a practical working knowledge of the live and media arts department within a public visual arts organisation. Duties are varied, but centre on administrative support to the curatorial team, assisting with the planning, production and presentation of the current Live and Media Arts programme, research and development for future Live and Media Arts events, compiling and updating project information, maintaining databases and archives and coordinating mailings, among other duties. There may be some evening and weekend work involved, but time is given off in lieu.

Applicants should be self-motivated and have at least one year’s experience in an office setting role with strong interpersonal skills. They should possess computer literacy (knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint), an excellent telephone manner and work well both in a team and autonomously. A committed interest in performing arts and excellent spoken and written English skills are essential.

The ICA is a charity and internships are offered on a voluntary basis, however all travel expenses between zones 1-4 are reimbursed and ICA staff benefits are provided.
