An idea: A world shop needing some creative workshops that will invoke cross cultural dialogue, challenge and bend stereo types of art from the ‘other’ (non -western), make people aware of contemporary artist from the majority world, explore themes of culture and identity, modernity and tradition. For example performance poets, writers, storytellers film makers, maybe those that
use traditional methods to discuss contemporary issues(Ie Islamic calligraphy in photography).
You may be interested in a particpatory workshop which gets people making, moving or talking
a presentation of your work to get people thinking film screenings or getting people to make a film reading/performance.
The workshops will be held in the world shop- after hours. They are one off-monthly sessions. We are looking for local (London- Reading).
If you have an idea please send me (mailto:shehnoor@risc.org.uk) images of your
